“You don’t,” he insisted, and leaned forward to silence that protest with his lips.

Rebecca felt her breath stall in her lungs. He didn’t kiss her the casual way he had outside the gallery. As he curved his hand at the side of her face and coaxed her to open to him, he kissed her slowly, thoroughly, methodically melting her insides and completely vaporizing any thought of contradicting his dead-on insights.
